CHESTERFIELD, CITY OF CLARKSON VALLEY and ST. ALBANS

What was once a long stretch of farmland reaching to the Missouri River is now the Chesterfield Valley area, featuring both residential and commercial districts. Chesterfield, Clarkson Valley and St. Albans are at the western edge of St. Louis County and offer easy access to both the city and the rural areas just to the west.

The growth in Chesterfield real estate began in the 1970's, and you'll continue to find a wide variety of new construction in both Chesterfield and neighboring St. Albans. Whether you're looking for a traditional single family home, a contemporary luxury home, a condominium or a townhouse, you'll find your dream house in a private neighborhood or subdivision in the rolling hills of Chesterfield. Neighboring City of Clarkson Valley was a village until it changed its incorporation in 1988 to a class 4 city. Clarkson Valley is proud of its small population of 2,675 residents and its philosophy of small town government. St. Albans to the west offers substantial newer luxury homes on larger lots with a beautiful golf course at the heart of the community.

A master plan for Chesterfield Village, a 1,500-acre commercial and residential development, ensures that 40% of the Village's acreage will remain green. You'll find paths for biking and walking, as well as substantial commercial development in park-like settings. In addition to Chesterfield Mall, there are retail, commercial and entertainment resources all close at hand. The Spirit of St. Louis Airport, which is being expanded, serves corporate and private air travel, and houses an office park as well.

Chesterfield was incorporated in 1988 and is one of St. Louis County's fastest growing communities. The public school districts for the area, Parkway and Rockwood, are both rated AAA - the highest score possible by Missouri's Department of Education. For recreation, there is Faust County Park, a 200-acre public park offering picnic and play areas. There are also a number of private recreational facilities for soccer, tennis and horseback riding.
