WILDWOOD
Incorporated in 1995, the City of Wildwood, is the third largest city in the State of Missouri in terms of geographic size. Wildwood comprises 67 square miles, is bordered by both the Meramec and Missouri Rivers, and contains nine different watersheds, making it geologically unique and appealing. Nestled in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, Wildwood blends city and country living in a panoramic setting. In fact, Babler State Park, Rockwoods Reservation and Range and Greensfelder County Park are located here.
Population growth has been tremendous with urban dwellers moving west to large, new luxury homes, and transferees locating in subdivisions, condominiums, villas and town homes. The area is served by both the Meramec Valley and Rockwood School Districts. The Rockwood School District is St. Louis county's largest district with 22,000 students, 19 elementary schools, six middle schools, four high schools, an Early Childhood Center, a Center for Creative Learning and an Individualized Learning Center. Rockwood ranks first among the state's 524 public school districts in terms of number of schools placing in the Top 10 Highest Performing Schools in the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP).
